Configure contract parameters

Review the main contract fields and settings that shape generation and behavior.

Contract parameters are the main fields that control how a contract behaves.

They shape dates, generation timing, renewal, and linked workflow behavior.

Key contract parameters

Contract type

This decides whether the contract is preventive, corrective, or yearly-order.

Customer and invoice customer

The customer receives the contract.

The invoice customer covers work outside the contract scope when needed.

Contract terms

These settings control duration, restart, and renewal behavior.

Start date and end date

These dates control when the contract is active.

If you change the start date, review the end date too.

Days in advance

This controls how early preventive work orders are created.

SLA policy

Use this on corrective contracts when response and resolution targets apply.

Form, objects, and project

Use these links when the generated work orders need the same context each time.

Order per object

Use this when linked objects should generate separate work orders.

Why parameters matter

These settings decide how OutSmart interprets the agreement.

Small changes can affect future generation and contract management behavior.

When to review parameters

Check them when you:

  • create a new contract

  • edit an active contract

  • troubleshoot unexpected generation

  • prepare a renewal or restart
