Understand contract types

Learn when to use preventive, corrective, or yearly-order contract types.

The contract type controls how the agreement behaves.

Different types use different scheduling rules.

Main contract types

Preventive maintenance

Use this for planned recurring maintenance.

You configure one recurring schedule and optional days in advance.

Use a separate contract for each recurrence.

Corrective maintenance

Use this for service agreements with response targets.

It creates the customer relationship and uses an SLA policy when needed.

Yearly orders

Use this when you need a fixed number of work orders each year.
