Create a menu item

Add a custom shortcut to an internal page or external website in the left menu.

Create a Menu Item when you want a shortcut in the left menu.

You set it up in Settings in the BackOffice.

1

Open Menu Items

Log in to the OutSmart BackOffice.

Go to Settings.

Search for Menu Items.

Open the result.

2

Start a new Menu Item

Click Add.

3

Fill in the fields

Enter the fields you need:

  • Title — the label shown in the custom menu

  • URL (preset) — an optional preset link to a standard OutSmart page

  • URL (mandatory) — paste the full web address you want to open

  • Position in menu — the position number in the custom menu

  • Active — makes the Menu Item visible

4

Save the Menu Item

Click Save.

Refresh the page.

The new Menu Item now appears in the left menu.

How the URL fields work

URL (mandatory) accepts:

  • an internal OutSmart page

  • an external website

  • a copied full web address

URL (preset) is optional.

When you select a preset, the title changes automatically.

Preset links point to standard OutSmart pages. In most cases, a custom URL is more useful.
