Create objects

Create new objects from the object overview, a work order, or the mobile app.

You can create objects in three ways.

Choose the method that fits your workflow.

Before you start

Prepare at least these fields:

• customer
• object code
• description

You can add other details later.

Useful fields include:

• address
• project
• parent object
• supplier
• serial number
• installation date
• maintenance date
• warranty date
• brand, model, and type
• location and floor
• latitude and longitude
• photo
• custom fields

Create an object from the object overview

Open Objects

Go to BackOffice → Objects.

Start a new object

Click Add.

If needed, choose a template from the arrow next to Add.

Fill in the required fields

Select the customer.

Enter a unique object code.

Add a clear description.

Add extra details

Fill in the optional fields you want to track.

You can edit them later.

Save the object

Click Save.

Create an object from a BackOffice work order

Open the work order

Create a new work order or open an existing one.

Open the objects section

Go to the Objects tab in the work order.

Add the object

Click the plus icon.

If needed, select a template first.

Fill in the object fields

Add the required fields and any optional details.

Save the object

Click Save.

The object is now linked to the work order.

Create an object from the mobile app

Field employees can only create or edit objects in the app when this is enabled in Settings → App Settings → Assets.

Open the work order

Open the work order in the app.

Open the objects section

Go to Objects.

Add a new object

Tap the plus icon.

Then choose Add new object.

Fill in the fields

Enter the object details.

You can also use a template.

Save the object

Tap Save.

The object is created and linked to the work order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import objects instead of creating them one by one?

Yes.

If you already have object data in Excel, you can import it in bulk.

Does every object need a unique code?

Yes.

Each object must have its own unique code.

Can I add a photo to an object?

Yes.

You can add or update object photos in the BackOffice and app.
