Set up a custom email domain

Send outgoing emails from your own company domain instead of a default OutSmart address.

A custom email domain sends emails from your own company address.

This improves brand trust. It also reduces the chance that emails land in spam.

Before you start

You need access to your DNS settings. Most teams ask their system administrator or IT partner to complete this step.

Only one outbound domain can be active at a time.

Set up the domain

1

Open the domain settings

Go to Settings. Search for Custom Domain Configuration.

2

Create the domain

Click Create Domain. Enter your company domain. Enable Set domain as outbound e-mail address.

3

Set the sender prefix

Enter the part before the @ symbol. For example, use info for info@yourcompany.com.

4

Add the DNS records

Copy the DNS keys shown on the right. Add them to your DNS server.

5

Verify the domain

Return to the configurator and click Verify. Wait until the status becomes Validated.

6

Activate the domain

Set the domain status to Active. Send a test email to confirm the sender address.

FAQ

Why is verification failing?

DNS changes may not be active yet. Check the records and try again later.

Why do emails still go to spam?

Check your SPF and DKIM records. These records help mail providers trust the domain.

Can I change the domain later?

Yes. You can return and update the domain settings at any time.
