There is more than one way to connect OutSmart to another system.

Choose the path that matches what you want to build.

Customer Portal API access — Use this for your Customer Portal users and their portal data. Enable it in portal settings. See Enable Portal API access.
Pre-built integrations — Use these ready-made connections for Exact Online, SnelStart, MoneyBird, and similar systems. See Set up a software integration.
Custom API Connection — Use this when you build your own integration with OutSmart. This page covers that option.

A Custom API Connection gives your integration the details it needs to authenticate.

Open the License Manager.

Order the Custom API Connection under Integrations in the License Manager.

Complete the order steps.

After activation, open the connection settings.

Copy your Company ID and software token.

It explains software-integration authentication for API requests.

Check the License Manager for the current price and plan requirements.

I want to build my own integration. Where do I start?

Order a Custom API Connection in the License Manager.

This differs from Customer Portal API access.

What do I receive after ordering?

You receive a Company ID and software token.

Use them with the Authentication guide.

Is this the same as Portal API access?

No.

Portal API access is for Customer Portal users and portal data.

A Custom API Connection supports your own OutSmart integration.

Is there a cost?

Check the Custom API Connection entry in the License Manager.

It shows the current price and plan requirements.
