# What is Tasks?

**Tasks** lets you manage follow-ups, reminders, and internal actions in OutSmart.

You can assign tasks, add deadlines, track status, and keep work visible across teams.

### What Tasks helps you do

* assign follow-up work to one or more employees
* track due dates, priority, and progress
* link tasks to customers and business records
* manage tasks in the BackOffice and mobile app

### When to use Tasks

Use Tasks when you want to:

* record work that is not a full work order
* follow up on customers, quotations, or invoices
* keep internal actions visible until they are done

### How Tasks fits in OutSmart

Tasks can be linked to customers.

They can also be linked to records such as work orders, invoices, quotations, and projects.

This keeps the follow-up connected to the right context.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.out-smart.com/marketplace-packages-and-power-ups/power-ups/tasks/what-is-tasks.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
