# Review and export hours

You can review submitted hours before they count as final.

This prevents errors in reports, post-calculation, and invoicing.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Time Sheets

Go to **Time Sheets** in the BackOffice.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open the employee

Click the employee whose hours you want to review.

You now see a weekly overview with all registrations.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Approve or reject hours

Change the status per row.

For larger numbers, use **Bulk change status**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Export a report

Click **Export** to download an Excel file.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check the output

Choose which fields you want to include in the report.

After approval, you see the processed hours back in the employee overview.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Important settings

Through **Settings → Work order settings → Material and hour processing**, you define:

* whether hours from work orders are added automatically
* which default status new hours receive
* whether hours are approved automatically

{% hint style="info" %}
Choose automatic approval only if your process needs little manual review.
{% endhint %}

### What you can analyze

With reports, you gain insight into:

* worked hours per employee
* time per customer or project
* travel time, working time, and expenses
* total hours and costs per period

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.out-smart.com/marketplace-packages-and-power-ups/power-ups/timesheets/review-and-export-hours.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
