# What is Timesheets?

**Timesheets** is the Power-Up for time registration in OutSmart.

You register working hours, travel time, expenses, and mileage per employee.

Hours can come from work orders or be added manually.

### What you do with Timesheets

* register hours per employee
* link hours to work orders, projects, and customers
* record travel time, expenses, and mileage
* approve, reject, and export hours
* gain insight into time spent and costs

### Why teams use Timesheets

* Less manual work.
* More control over post-calculation.
* Faster review of submitted hours.
* A better basis for reporting and invoicing.

{% hint style="info" %}
Time Sheets is a **Power-Up**. Power-Ups are available from **Boost** onward. A trial lasts **14 days**.
{% endhint %}

### How Timesheets works

The basic flow is simple:

1. Set up employees and working hours.
2. Create the right hour types and rates.
3. Let employees register hours in the app.
4. Review, approve, and export in the BackOffice.

### What you need first

* an active Timesheets license
* employees with configured availability
* hour types for working time, travel time, or overtime
* the app setting **Timesheet enabled** for employees who register time

### What can be automated

Hours from work orders can be sent to Timesheets automatically.

This makes registration more consistent and prevents duplicate entry.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.out-smart.com/marketplace-packages-and-power-ups/power-ups/timesheets/what-is-timesheets.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
