# Uploading photos and documents

## Uploading photos and documents

Add photos and files to keep the work order complete.

Use this for evidence, reports, manuals, and signed files.

All attachments are handled from **Documents** inside the work order.

### What you can upload

* Photos from the camera
* Files from the device
* Existing attachments linked to the job

### Add a photo or file

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the work order

Go to **Documents**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose the upload method

Take a photo or select a file from the device.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save the attachment

Confirm the file.

Wait for the upload to finish.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Best practices

* Use clear file names when you can edit them.
* Check sync status after large uploads.
* Upload over a stable connection when possible.

### Offline behavior

You can often add files offline.

The app uploads them after the next successful sync.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.out-smart.com/mobile-app/android-outsmart-next/core-functionalities/uploading-photos-and-documents.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
