# Tracking and managing your time

## Tracking and managing your time

Use **Hours** on a work order for job time.

Use **Timesheets** for separate entries like meetings or warehouse work.

### What you can register

* working time
* travel time
* expenses and separate timesheet entries

### Register time on a work order

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the work order

Open the job if the time belongs to that visit.

Use **Timesheets** if it does not belong to one work order.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Start the timer

Tap **Start**.

Choose **travel time** or **working time**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Stop and review the entry

Tap **Stop** when the activity ends.

Adjust the details if needed.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save the result

Save the entry so it syncs back to BackOffice.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Use **Timesheets**

**Timesheets** is split into **Hours**, **Expenses**, and **Travels**.

Use it for entries outside a single work order.

### Keep in mind

Some companies require **Hours** before a work order can be sent.

**Timesheets** only appears when the module is enabled.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.out-smart.com/mobile-app/ios-outsmart-app/core-functionalities/tracking-and-managing-your-time.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
